When the Sun is transiting the sign of Pisces, it sheds much light on inspiration and a connectedness to the cosmos. This can bring very spiritual experiences to all of us, but also a little vertigo as we’re thrown into unchartered waters. Not to worry, we have 5 ‘to-do’s’ during this sign to help you tap into its genius all the while keeping you grounded in the process.

Being the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces rules the feet. It’s the sign that acts as the integrator of all signs, carrying the weight of all other signs on the soles of its feet (literally). In Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose, maintaining solid grounding through the standing foot is a great way to test out each side of your body for balance and to bring your focus back to reality if you’re feeling a little nebulous.

For a little mental challenge and to learn to use your mind in a very Piscean way, pick up any Ken Wilber book (he’s the leading modern philosopher on integral theory) and dive into this wonderfully complex, mind-expanding subject of integral philosophy.

Pisces Season rules the feet and also rules the immune system. This time of year holds great vulnerability to colds and flus. Statistically, February has by far the largest spike in cold and flu activity of any month, with March tied for third. Get your daily Vitamin C first thing every morning with some fresh citrus juices.

Seaweed is a superfood that is often overlooked in western culture. It packs a serious punch that is well dialed into the integral thread of having benefits for just about every system in the body. It is blood purifying, high in calcium, alkalizing, has chelating properties, detoxifying, thyroid regulating, high in magnesium…. the list goes on. My favorite ways to consume this are in sushi or seaweed salads. I’ll be honest, I was terrified to try the salad, but upon first bite, it became an instant favorite!

It can be so easy to slip away into dreamland and addictive behavior during Pisces Season, yet it’s the time when being present has the biggest impact. Pisces is the sign of compassion, healing, service, spirituality and inspiration. Be sure to give yourself plenty of down time to meditate, decompress, sleep, and breath, so when you are with others you have presence and the ability to be there for them. You will be shocked at how much this simple thing will mean to everyone around you during this season of compassion and healing.
